Our Programs
Neighbor Island House Program (NIHP) offers the following services for those with qualifying disabilities:
Tenant-Based Rental Assistance
- Offers assistance to individual households, helping them afford the housing costs of market-rate units.
- Assistance that moves with the tenant—if the household no longer wishes to rent a particular unit, the household may take it to another rental property.
- The level of subsidy varies and is based upon the income of the household and the particular unit the household selects.
Tenant Based Rental Assistance program provides payments to make up the difference between the amount a household can afford to pay for housing and the local rent standards.
